New Delhi: If you were not in Dilli Haat on April 04,  2015, you missed a vibrant performance by Sadak Chhap and a team of young students supported by Oxfam India on the demand for full implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act.

Fret not. We bring to you the highlights from the event.

Four short plays were performed by the students of Institute of Home Economics performed at Dilli Haat, which is the cultural hub of Delhi.

The plays highlighted the shortcomings in the RTE Act like:

  • Accessibility for differently-abled students
  • Discrimination due to social and class differences
  • Exploitation of students based on these factors.

A magic show was also performed during the event. Some special tricks highlighted the shortcomings of the Act, which were widely appreciated by the audience.

Nearly 400 people watched the hour long performances. The audience included students, visitors to Dilli Haat, construction workers and foreign tourists.
