ये पहचान मेरी जो दिखाई देती है
गुज़रे वक़्त में मुझ पर की गई
ज़्यादतियों की गवाही देती है
सदियों से एक बोझ मुझ पर लादा गया है
नाम तहज़ीब का लेकर मुझ को बांधा गया है
सनफे नाजुक (१) का इस्म (२) जो मुझ को दिया
संग एक कफ़स (३) भी तोहफा दिया
मिला माहौल घुटन जदा,मैं दब सी गई
डाल खुद पर हिजाब में ढक सी गई
ख्वाब परवाज़ का मैंने जो देखा ज़रा
मेरे हाकिम ने मुझ को फिर दे दी सज़ा
निशान जख़्म का ज़ालिम ने जब मुझ को दिया
हुई नम आँखे,मगर मैंने टूटे परों को समेट लिया
एक अलामत-ए-मज़हब (४) जो पहनाया मुझे
हज़ार लोगों की नज़रो में लाया मुझे
बाद इसके मैं इतनी बदल जाऊँगी
मैंने सोचा न था,शक में घिर जाऊँगी
क्यों किसी को इख़्तियार हो किसी की पहचान बनाने का
सभी को किसी ना किसी साँचे में ढालने का
क्या पैराहन (५) हो मेरे,ये मेरा ही इख़्तियार हो
न कोई जबर हो,ना कोई कानून, ना कोई पहरेदार हो
ये सियाह- साया (६) मेरे वजूद को हरगिज़ ना मिटा पाएगा
तारों की मांनिद मेरा हर नक्ष
गहरे बदलो से उभर आएगा !
हज़ार भंवर में, फसा भी हो मेरा सफीना (७)
मेरे अज्म (८) का बादबान (९) इसे साहिल पर ले आएगा
एक संग तराश की मांनिद मैं खुद को तराशुंगी
खुद को एक नफीस मूरत में डालूँगी
बढ़ते क़दमो से मंजिल को पाऊँगी
इन ही क़दमो से फासलो का निशा मिटाऊँगी
