Mission Sanjeevani in January

  • 16 Jan, 2022

As the country deals with the Omicron variant of the pandemic, it is worth to look at how Oxfam India set about strengthening the public healthcare system. Since April 2021, we have provided life saving medical and diagnostic equipment to 150 District Hospitals, 172 Primary Health Centres, and 166 Community Health Centres in 16 states. We have reached over 55,000 ASHA workers, which is very close to the 60,000 ASHA workers target that we had set for ourselves.

Our food and safety kit distributions continue. We have reached out to some of the most marginalised communities in the last couple of years. You can check out some of the stories here

Over the last couple of years we have received several awards and recognitions from local leaders to communities, from hospital administrators to ministers.

Since our FCRA renewal has been denied, it is likely to hamper our work with the communities and in strengthening the public healthcare systems across the states. But this is where we need the support of all all you.
