Mission Sanjeevani Continues

Mission Sanjeevani Continues

  • 15 Aug, 2021

In the last one month, there were several firsts for Mission Sanjeevani.

Oxfam India won the bronze in the NGO Segment in “CSR COVID Relief Project” for Mission Sanjeevani at the 5th CSR Health Impact Awards.

We inaugurated our first Oxygen Plant at the Koratagere Govt Hospital in Tumkur, Karnataka. This 300 LPM plant is first in the series of seven that we plan to set up across India. We also began working with our ASHAs— we are providing testing and safety kit and training to practice COVID-appropriate behaviour. We have reached over 800 ASHAs in Bihar and Jharkhand till now. We will reach 50,000 ASHA workers in the coming weeks across 9 states.

Our COVICALL Centre—SANJEEVANI—for all COVID and Non-COVID related medical queries, including information regarding oxygen cylinders, ICU beds, medicines, is up and running. The centre will answer queries in English, Hindi, Bengali, Odiya, Marathi and Kannada. For now the Centre is open between 10 AM and 6 PM. The number to remember is 1800-102-6869.

Our COVID Response 2.0 is focussing on strengthening public healthcare systems. In the coming weeks, watch out for updates on our new oxygen plants and stories from our ASHA trainings.
