Recommendations for protecting educational and human rights of children during COVID-19

National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has constituted an 11-member expert committee to assess the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on human rights; especially those of marginalised and vulnerable sections of the society on July 6. 

Oxfam India sought inputs from Oxfam India's partners and #RightsOverProfits campaign allies across India to make submissions to the expert committee in order to uphold children's right to education. We also engaged with the members of the NHRC's expert committee during the drafting of the submissions. 

NHRC's expert committee is expected to issue advisory to the Central Government and State Governments on the basis of submissions issued by the civil society.
