Mines & Minerals Bill 2015: Disempowering the Community?

A host of unaddressed concerns in the Bill question the government’s intent of protecting the interests of the indigenous populations. 

Oxfam India along with the network of civil society organisations “mines, minerals & PEOPLE” (mm&P), urges policymakers and parliamentarians to prioritise the long-term stability of mining regions and the well-being of people over short-term profits, by amending the Mines and Minerals Bill 2015.
