Gender Development and Women's Empowerment in Uttar Pradesh

Gender development and women’s empowerment is now being acknowledged as the core of inclusive growth policies and overall economic prosperity of a state or country. However, disturbing trends reflect that Uttar Pradesh is far behind other states in India when it comes to gender development. Need of the hour is to strictly implement women specific acts, programmes and schemes in a holistic way- through adopting a gender budgeting strategy to reach to the target group effectively, in order to achieve the desired objective of gender development.
