<h3>Introduction:</h3>
<p>
The poor require a steady flow of input supplies and technical support for enhanced productivity. They also need access to new technologies to make production more efficient, financial and advisory services on value addition possibilities and market linkages.. After allocating huge resources to support poverty reduction programs, ensuring sustainable livelihoods to the poor remains a big challenge.

In order to understand and assess the key issues and challenges that the sector faces and also to craft a vision and a strategy for its growth, ACCESS introduced Livelihoods India Initiative, a national platform on livelihoods that aims to influence policy. This annual conference will also showcase best practices and address key challenges and issues. Oxfam India will provide funding support and also participate in the advisory group meetings.

<h3>About the Project: </h3>
<p>Oxfam India supports two initiatives of ACCESS- Livelihood Asia Summit and Sitaram Rao Case Study Competition. The aim for the Livelihoods Asia Summit 2013-14, is promoting south-south cooperation at the Asia level and to create learning and sharing platform; and Sitaram Rao Livelihoods India Case Study Competition2014 seeks case studies on promoting livelihood with women farmers. The Competition aims at bringing together the collective intellect of the sector and assimilates innovative solutions, breakthroughs, good experiences and best practices that can help change the poverty status in India.</p>
<h3>Expected Results: </h3>

<li>Building a platform for bring stakeholders together for collation, analysis and dissemination of new generation approaches for livelihoods promotion of the poor in India</li>
<li>Influence policy and strategies for improving livelihoods of poor in India</li>
<li>Building civil society’s capacity to take up policy advocacy for the poor.</li>
