Hygiene Promotion Campaign in Cyclone - Hit Odisha

In Odisha`s Phailin hit districts, millions of affected people are not only dealing with broken houses, schools, shorn fields, but also lack of water, power and therefore terrible sanitation and hygiene issues. Oxfam India`s WASH programme ensures clean water, sanitation and hygiene facilities which includes provision of community latrines, bathing cubicles, handpump repair and chlorination, and public health campaigns in the affected villages.

Bimola Mukhi and her daughter Subhadra (12) of Gambharia village and Balasore district who returned home 15 days after the flood, discovered their house had been flooded and there was a layer of silt throughout.
