Oxfam India's 80G Certificate

All donations made to Oxfam India are exempted under section 80G of the Income Tax Act. 50% of your donation amount is eligible for tax exemption. The tax exemption may not be useful for foreign nationals. Please check its validity in your country.

Please note the Amendment in the Finance Act along with the circular number and date:

  • If the 80G certificate was to expire on or after 01/10/2009, then there is no need of a renewal as the existing certificate is to be considered perpetual.
  • As per the Finance (No.2) Act, 2009, Clause (vi) of Sec. 80G(5) has been omitted w.e.f. 01/10/2009. Organisations whose Sec. 80G exemption renewals fall after 01/10/2009 need not file for a renewal. Existing approval shall be deemed to be continued in perpetuity unless specifically withdrawn. [Circular No. 7.2010, dated 27/10/2010].
