Essential Services Campaign

Oxfam India’s Essential Services campaign aims to empower marginalised communities to demand accountability of the state for basic essential services as rights..

Soon there will be nine billion of us on the planet. Our societies must grow to meet our needs, so we can put enough food on the table for everyone. Already, almost a billion of us go to bed hungry every night. Not because there isn't enough. But because of the deep injustice in the way the system works.

Violence against women is rooted in gender inequality and that whether in homes or outside, it reflects the power structures in society which relegate the status of women in society to be only that after men.

The "16 Days of Activism" is an International Campaign that has originated from the first global women's leadership conference in 1991. The starting date 25th of November " International Day against Violence Against Women" and the 10th of December " Human Rights Day" were selected consciously to link violence against women and human rights violation, that VAW is violation of women's human right.
