Donors Speak

Dola Dasgupta

The day Oxfam volunteers rang my doorbell: “I often get volunteers from various agencies seeking donations and sponsorship for their projects. Most of the times I use to turn them down but this particular day was special. It was my birthday on November 5, 2011 and owing to some events in my life which saw the departure of many old relationships from my life, I was mopping around a bit, thinking how there would be no more parties for me as there used to be once....At that moment the door bell rang and there stood two smiling young men asking for help on behalf of Oxfam India for education of under privileged children.

I just sensed this as a blessing from the universe to help me give something back on my birthday rather than wanting something for me. It was such an ecstatic feeling in my heart as I signed the papers for sponsoring the education of five children. I knew at that moment my heart was opening to the wonders of this universe and the limitless joy and bliss that loving those who need it the most can bring to me. I am grateful to Oxfam India for having given me the most needed birthday gift of all my life. It is truly my firm trust and belief that our hearts and the wounds of our childhood can heal when we heal the children of this world”.

I support the organization as it is making a great effort to bring smiles to the poor children in India. I want to involve myself further with its work. I wish all the very best to everyone in Oxfam India fraternity.

Oxfam India is doing quite a noble work by helping those who are deprived. We are on the brink of making India a super power in world. Our contribution towards helping others will certainly go a long way in doing so. I strongly recommend contributions to Oxfam India's work towards social empowerment of all people. I am happy that Oxfam India has commenced their operations in Indore also. I wish all the best to its staff.
