Key Responsibilities
- To develop a regional communications strategy in line with the Oxfam India national communication strategy and ensure its implementation
- To act as the point person coordinating, providing advice and overseeing correct use of the Oxfam Brand throughout the region
- To act as the first point of contact for information with the media and to pro-actively plan a media visibility campaign in association with the Oxfam India national communications team.
- To act as the first point of contact for information and communications enquires and accompany field visits where necessary
- To provide communications support to fund-raising at the regional level and help in organising communications around development events
- To contribute to the corporate communication tools in the wider Oxfam family
- To support the Oxfam India regional staff in collating and editing reports, papers, briefing documents
- To ensure that information about India on the intranet and the internet site is updated on a regular basis
- Copywriting for Annual Report, newsletters, posters, brochures and flyers in coordination with Oxfam India country communications team
- Liaise with third party agencies for printing and other production purposes
- Provide support and advice to staff on communication visuals for training workshops and other materials
- Keep internet and intranet websites up to date by posting materials regularly.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications - Essential
- Functional Experience of 3 – 5 years in Development sector - Essential
- Excellent knowledge of English and Hindi both verbal and written.
- Experience of engaging with Hindi and English media and drafting press releases, organising press conferences and preparing communication material.
- Ability to gather information, collate and systematise for effective communication.
- Proficiency in layout, typography, design, printing techniques and graphics. Website design and management skills desirable.
- Proven experience of using MS office application (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and desk-top publishing software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal support.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to set priorities and to develop action plans to achieve results.
Relocation During the course of employment the post holder may be required to move base on a temporary or permanent basis to any workplace controlled by Oxfam India
Travel Willingness to travel within country and abroad as required.
